Did you now that approximately 83 million people speak Italian and for over 21 million it is their second language? Italian speaking markets represent a significant economic force, so a number of Aermec’s UK employees have started to learn the language.
Courses are being run by Aermec’s own Italian business support administrator and Italian linguist Lara Musina who has started running language courses for employees twice weekly. ‘Lara’s Italian Workshop’ classes are held in the Rochford offices with remote workers joining on-line.
Thanks to Lara, Paul Lawrence the company’s managing director is already conversationally proficient. Although most employees in Aermec’s factory in Bevilacqua speak English, UK employees wanted to learn Italian to provide a closer tie when liaising with staff in Italy, but it will also come in useful on holiday!
Lara Musina is delighted with the number of employees who are taking part: “Learning a new language brings everyone together, provides a better cultural understanding of our colleagues across the Aermec family. As we are a global company with an international customer base learning Italian will help develop and improve client relationships and access new markets.”

“Life is all about new experiences, learning no matter where you are in your career or business and showing a commitment to professional development. As we say in Italy…Meglio tardi che mai – better late than never!
