COP 26 focused the world’s attention on Climate Change last year and Luigi Rossettini, Aermec SpA’s International Sales Director, believes the HVAC industry has been proactive and innovative. But although the industry is delivering tangible energy savings and reductions in emissions, so much more can be achieved.
Writing in January’s ACR News Luigi stressed the need for the HVAC industry is to act now:
We need to be able to stand up to scrutiny. Only by being innovative and using all the tools at our disposal can the HVAC industry play a key part in carbon reduction and we have plenty of levers that can help curb emissions.
Many of the manufacturers in the HVAC industry are concentrating their investment and efforts on units with new refrigerants and developing products that are more efficient following the minimum legal requirements. This is not enough. There are still products being produced with lower efficiencies as well as markets and countries using high GWP refrigerants.
From its inception Aermec decided to do more than design innovative products. We were proactive. We took the decision not to manufacture inefficient units but continually innovate delivering the best technologies and solutions that would in turn help our customers make choices that had less of an environmental impact.
